This timber door handle was created with one eye on the production process for sustainable timber and the other on creating pleasant touching points for interiors.
This subtly designed wooden lever handle is flat on one side and curved on the other, simple to slot into your palm as it envelops the handle. The curvature of the handle brings the grain to life; it has a circular section where it meets the polished brass rose, the graining leading into and contrasting superbly with the polished or satin metal. A smaller privacy turn, including an emergency coin release for bathrooms, is available to complement the lever handle. Both are standardly available in three timbers: oiled London plane, oak and maple, and a dark ebonised finish, all naturally oiled. izé offers the unique service to produce this design from any reclaimed hardwoods, closing a project’s sustainability circle and reducing its carbon footprint. This also offers an opportunity to use wood from a restoration project to embed a building’s history and identity into its new environment.
